BigPond standard settings

Below general configuration and settings to help you manually install your BigPond services.

Broadband ADSL

Wireless Settings

The configuration settings should be pre-configured in the Connection Manager, except for your BigPond Username and Password.

Below general configuration and settings to help you manually install your iiNet services.

ADSL, ADSL2+ and Naked DSL

DSL Standard/Mode/Modulation:
Auto, ADSL or ADSL2+. Select G.DMT if safe mode is desired.
Connection Type/Mode/WAN Type: PPPoE
Multiplexing/Encapsulation: LLC
Authentication type: PAP
Username: Enter your full username here e.g. example@iinet.net.au

Password: Enter the password for your username. This was emailed to you when your service was activated. If you can’t remember your password, please try our password recovery tool or call 13 22 58.
VPI: 8
VCI: 35
DNS*: 203.0.178.191

*Our alternate DNS address is 203.215.29.191

Note: Not all settings may be required when setting up your modem. If you encounter a setting that isn’t listed here (e.g. MTU) in your modem’s Setup Wizard/Quick Setup then it should be fine to leave it as the default.

 

NBN Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) or Fibre to the Home

Important: Your modem or router must be fibre-ready for use with an NBN Fibre service.

Most of the settings will be taken care of by the NBN Connection Box or equivalent fibre unit. However it’s important to configure the right WAN Type on modem routers to stop it trying to take over the job of the Connection Box which can cause connection issues.

Mode/Modulation:
WAN
Connection Type/Mode/WAN Type: IPoE or Dynamic IP address

Note: Some fibre services including Internode services, South Brisbane Fibre and select locations will need to use PPPoE. If you’re not sure which setting you need, please call us on 13 22 58 and we can check our records.

Username (required if using PPPoE): Enter your full username here e.g. example@iinet.net.au

Username: N/A
